ROME (AP) The breakthrough under Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. Then the coronation at Real Madrid. And now another title at Juventus. If ever there was a need to emphasize Cristiano Ronaldos impact as a footballer Cheap AS Roma Soccer Team Uniform , the five-time Ballon dOr winner did it again this weekend by helping Juventus to the Serie A title in his first season in Italy. In doing so, the 34-year-old Ronaldo became the first player in history to win league titles in the English Premier League (with United), the Spanish league (Madrid) and Serie A (Juventus).Im very happy to have won in England, Spain and now the league title in Italy as well, Ronaldo said. It meant a lot to me and it means a lot to us as a team.Other players have won titles in three of the five major European leagues (England, Spain, Italy , Germany and France) but nobody had previously put together the combination of England, Spain and Italy.David Beckham played in four of the top leagues but only won titles at United (six), Madrid (one) and Paris Saint-Germain (one), having failed to lift the Serie A trophy during his two loan spells at AC Milan.Zlatan Ibrahimovic won four Serie A titles (three with Inter Milan and one with AC Milan), the Spanish league with Barcelona and four French championships with PSG.Brazil fullback Maxwell was on many of those same teams as Ibrahimovic and also won in Italy, Spain and France. Then there was Arjen Robben, who won the Premier League twice with Chelsea before adding a Spanish title at Real Madrid and seven Bundesliga trophies at Bayern Munich.Another Dutchman who achieved the feat was Mark van Bommel Cheap Barcelona Soccer Team Uniform , with titles with Barcelona, Bayern Munich (two) and AC Milan. While Juventus also won the league in the seven seasons before Ronaldos arrival, there was no doubting his impact in Turin. With 19 goals and six assists in 27 Italian league matches this season, Ronaldo played a part in nearly 40 percent of Juventus goals. So it came as no surprise when his dangerous cross from a sharp angle was redirected in by a defender as an own-goal for the winner in Juves 2-1 win over Fiorentina on Saturday giving the Bianconeri more than the single point they needed to secure a record-extending eighth straight title with five rounds remaining. Its the sixth league title of Ronaldos career. The first came as a 22-year-old at United, ending a four-year drought for Fergusons squad as Ronaldo scored 17 goals three fewer than Didier Drogbas league-best 20.That was just a warmup for what came next.In 2007-08, Ronaldo led the Premier League with 31 goals and helped United to the league title and the Champions League trophy.Another Premier League title came the following season as Ronaldo finished second in the scoring charts with 18 goals, behind only Nicolas Anelka , who had 19 for Chelsea. While Ronaldo won only two Spanish league championships in his nine seasons at Madrid, he also helped the team to four Champions League trophies including three consecutive European titles over the last three seasons. When Juventus acquired Ronaldo in a 100 million euro ($112 million) transfer last year, the expectation was that he would help end the clubs long chase for a Champions League trophy.Ronaldo did his part by scoring a hat trick to overturn a first-leg deficit against Atletico Madrid in the opening knockout round and goals in both legs of the quarterfinals against Ajax but the Bianconeri were still eliminated by the Dutch club.Next year is a new page, the fans all want it and so do we, Ronaldo said. It is an important trophy, but its difficult to (win).A Champions League title with Juventus would enable Ronaldo to match another multiple nation and multiple team record joining Clarence Seedorf as the only players to win the trophy with three different clubs. Flashed on big screens and projected onto landmarks worldwide, the 2022 Qatar World Cup logo was revealed Tuesday with a design that reflects both the tournaments compact infrastructure and winter schedule.Using the colors of the Qatari flag TheTopSoccer , the white emblem is set against a maroon background and it finally provides an image for soccers most controversial tournament beyond construction sites. It was inspired by the contours of the World Cup trophy with the unbroken loop depicting a figure of eight the number of stadiums built for the Middle Easts first World Cup in the tiny Persian Gulf nation.FIFA said the design also draws inspiration from a traditional woolen shawl, a winter garment reflecting the World Cup being played in November and December 2022 to avoid the fierce summer heat in June and July when the tournament is usually played. The reveal came at 2022 local time (8:22 p.m.) in Doha and the image was projected onto buildings in the Qatari capital, including the Al Zubarah Fort, and appeared at sites in Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. Some other countries in the region played no role in the launch due to the ongoing political tensions. The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt have been boycotting Qatar economically and diplomatically since 2017 Cheap Dortmund Soccer Team Uniform , and its severing of travel links could prove problematic for fan travel in 2022.Among the international sites where the logo was displayed on Tuesday were the Arch of Peace in Milan, trains stations in Paris and Rio de Janeiro and Times Square in New York.Ten sites were used in Turkey, reflecting Qatars deepening alliance with a regional ally that has helped it circumvent the Gulf boycott impact on food and construction supplies.Qatar won a FIFA vote in 2010 that has been dogged by controversy. A FIFA investigation found that some of Qatars conduct may not have met the standards required while concluding there was no evidence of any improper activity by the bid team.Working conditions and rights for migrant laborers building the stadiums in Qatar were also criticized, forcing standards to be raised.

PITTSBURGH (AP) Digna Strautmane scored 22 points , nine in the pivotal third quarter, and No. 12 Syracuse won its ninth straight Thursday night, 82-50 over Pittsburgh.Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi added 16 points and Tiana Mangakahia 14, also nine in the third quarter , as the Orange (15-2, 4-0 ACC) outscored the Panthers 28-8 to break the game open.Mangakhia had five points in an 8-0 surge early in the third quarter that pushed the lead to 48-35 and then Strautmane had six in a 14-0 run. By the end of the quarter, when Syracuse was 7 of 15 from the field with 3 3-pointers and 11 of 12 from the line, a six-point lead became swelled to a 66-40 lead. The Panthers (9-9 , 0-4), who have lost four straight, made six field goals and shot 21 percent in the second half. Cassidy Walsh had three 3s and 13 points.Djaldi-Tabdi and Gabrielle Cooper had eight rebounds apiece as the Orange had a 51-32 advantage on the boards and Mangakahia had eight assists. As the Panthers try to end a six-game losing streak that wiped out a strong 6-2 start to the season, many league observers are trying to figure out what will happen to coach Ron Rivera.Already on the job for eight years , Rivera now works for a new boss, and no one knows what owner David Tepper will do, now that a promising season has fallen apart. Some think Tepper will make a change. Some think hell give Rivera another year. Yes, Rivera has two years left on his deal Greg Olsen Jersey , but it would be peanuts in comparison to the purchase price for Tepper to pay Rivera to walk away. With two games left and the Panthers clinging to mathematical postseason possibilities, it would be premature for Tepper to make a decision now. But he surely has considered his various options, regardless of whether Tepper pulls the trigger. As it will be for every other team contemplating a coaching change, the final two games will be a factor. The Panthers could make the playoffs. Even if they dont Fozzy Whittaker Color Rush Jersey , they could finish strong with a pair of wins, ending up at .500. That necessarily would create a different vibe entering the offseason.Another big factor will be whether Tepper can upgrade. Rivera quietly has become one of the best coaches in the league. Before giving up on a guy who is closing in on a decade of experience and who has taken the team to a Super Bowl, Tepper had better be sure hell end up with someone better especially since many believe the Buccaneers are poised to pounce on Rivera, if he becomes available.

After playing two games with the Dallas Cowboys. the case can be made that Amari Cooper is a player that is worth a first-round draft pick. His quality merits that level of payment. As true as this might be Dalton Schultz Color Rush Jersey , its also true that paying a premium price like that is never a fun thing to do no matter how the player performs. Having Amari Cooper on the Cowboys is something were all enjoying, but its hard not to think about next years draft at the same time.Focusing on the here and now, Cooper is not only living up to the price paid as far as what hes done individually, but hes helping out the entire Cowboys offense. Its easy to see how players like Michael Gallup (who had a huge third-down conversion) and Allen Hurns are benefiting from a big-time receiver drawing coverage away from them. Dak Prescott has had his most accurate games of the season since Amari arrivedThe most important person for Cooper to aid is undoubtedly quarterback Dak Prescott. While the jury is still out on whether Prescott is a franchise quarterback or not, its essential that the Cowboys give him every opportunity to succeed so they can know for sure before they pay him big-time money. Coopers first game for the Cowboys was against the Tennessee Titans a week and a half ago. From a completion percentage standpoint, it immediately was Prescotts best performance on the year. His next best performance came in literally the game after when the Cowboys beat the Eagles.Dak Prescott 2018 Completion Percentage:Overall Prescott has seen an increase in accuracy since Amari Cooper arrived, and its not hard to see why. The way that Cooper has been able to separate on a continual basis (granted were talking about two games here) is something that any quarterback would love to have.Accuracy isnt the end-all-be-all statistic in the NFL, but it can be quite telling. Consider how much more accurate Dak Prescott has been with each of his targets since Cooper arrived. Thats where the real difference has been made.Dak Prescotts Accuracy By Target Before And After Amari Cooper:Prescott has had higher success rates with literally all of the Cowboys top five targets this season since Cooper arrived. Ironically , one of the lowest completion percentages After Amari is to Amari himself at 61.1%. This is exactly why the Cowboys spent that first-round pick on Cooper. What hes able to do individually alone is dangerous to have in their offense, but hes making things easier for everyone else. Its the effect of a true and indisputable number one wide receiver. The most important measure of success in many eyes is the one on the scoreboard at the end of games. Dallas has split their two games in the Cooper era, but they won the far more important one in Philadelphia where Amari made plays like this. This has been a discussion of accuracy, but it certainly doesnt hurt to mention that third down conversions are up substantially with number 19 on the field. Everything is better with Amari Cooper around. Nice. Some big praise for Dak Prescott as leader." Dallas Cowboys GeneralCollege coach says Cowboys QB Dak Prescott isbest Ive ever seen at being an alpha dogNew,258commentsSome big praise for Dak Prescott as leader.CDTEvery day, we are left waiting for when the Cowboys complete deals with their quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. Ezekiel Elliott is training in Cabo as he awaits an extension , while Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper are in Oxnard learning the ins and outs of what Kellen Moore wants to add to the offense. All three of the Cowboys star Triplets believe they deserve big money. As he waits for franchise quarterback money, Dak Prescott is looking as confident as ever throwing the football. The regular season is not until a few weeks, but it is still encouraging to see the fourth-year quarterback wanting to test the secondary and throw the football deep. Maybe some of the limitations in the past had some to do with Scott Linehan, but Kellen Moore is running the show now and the defense is taking notice of changes. Here is one of Prescotts best throws of training camp, placing the ball in a perfect spot for Randall Cobb to haul it in and run into the end zone in stride:The Motherships David Helman noted that Tuesday was Prescotts best performance of training camp yet, which is definitely exciting to hear about. But one of Dak Prescotts best attributes is his ability to lead a football team. He has a unique ability to rally a large group of men and have them act as one as they pursue a goal. It was like that when Prescott took the Mississippi State football program to new heights during his collegiate career, and it has been that way since Prescott took over as the starting quarterback for Americas Team.Interestingly enough, Florida Gators head coach Dan Mullen who many have called one of college footballs best quarterback gurus and was Prescotts head coach at Mississippi State shared during a Tuesday press conference that Prescott is the best that he has ever seen in terms of being an alpha dog. Considering that Mullen has been around some big time talent during his coaching career both as an assistant under Urban Meyer and as a head coach in the SEC that is some significant praise. Leading is just one but still an important factor of being an NFL quarterback Dallas Cowboys Customized Jerseys , and it is pretty clear that the Cowboys are in very good hands in that regard. His teammates love him, the coaching staff is behind him, and the front office is all in on him.On the field, Prescott appears to be finding his rhythm and his confidence that should make for a productive season in 2019. Combine that with Kellen Moores creative play-calling and wrinkles that should get the weapons on the offensive side of the ball in space, there is a lot of reason for optimism heading into the season.

ENGLEWOOD , Colo. (AP) Adam Pacman Jones short stint in Denver is over. The Broncos waived the 14-year veteran Tuesday after hed appeared in seven games, posting nine tackles and one interception and three pass breakups.Jones posted a thank you note on Instagram, saying, Well Denver, it was good. Thanks for the opportunity!!! On to the next !!!At 35, Jones might have a hard time finding another team in need of a cornerback/kick returner. He signed with Denver in August. Coach Vance Joseph, who once served as an assistant in Cincinnati, vouched for Jones, who spent eight seasons with the Bengals.Jones was the Broncos leading punt returner with 10, albeit for a 2.5-yard average, and he returned four kickoffs for a 21.3-yard average.Cutting Jones would seem to indicate that the Broncos expect Bradley Roby, whos in concussion protocol Karl Mecklenburg Color Rush Jersey , to play Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2-1) visit Denver (4-6).The other cornerbacks are starter Chris Harris Jr., Tramaine Brock and rookie Isaac Yiadom. The Broncos on Tuesday also signed free agent Cyrus Kouandjio (KWAN-jo), a tackle who played three games in Denver last season, including the finale at right tackle, and was cut this summer.A fifth-year pro with 28 games of NFL experience (he was with the Bills from 2014-16), Kouandjio replaces guard Max Garcia, who tore his left ACL last week at practice. The Broncos placed Garcia on injured reserve Tuesday. Hes the third starting O-lineman lost for the season to injury, joining guard Ronald Leary (Achilles) and center Matt Paradis (broken right leg). With the rash of injuries, the Broncos had to start two tackles (Billy Turner and Elijah Wilkinson) at guard and guard Connor McGovern at center. The makeshift O-line wasnt whistled for any penalties and didnt allow any sacks in Denvers 23-22 win in Los Angeles that snapped the Chargers six-game winning streak. How can Von Miller improve under Vic Fangio?" Denver Broncos OffseasonDenver Broncos FilmThe Most Valuable Bronco is Von MillerNew,75commentsHow can Von Miller improve under Vic Fangio?MDTHere we are at the conclusion of the inaugural Most Valuable Broncos series. Remember that this is as much art as science, but to be as transparent as possible, I wanted to lay out how I made my list. There are 3 main aspects I considered:1. Value to this years team and past performance.2. Positional value3. Salary compared to both past & expected future performance. All three factors are important , but obviously this isnt an exact science, so I look forward to seeing how Broncos Country disagrees with me.Check out players 45-35 here.Check out players 25-34 here.Check out players 16-24 here.Check out players 7-15 here.Check out #6 here.Check out #5 here.Check out #4 here.Check out #3 here.Check out #2 here. I suspect the conclusion to the MVB isnt a big surprise, and it shouldnt be. John Elways first selection as general manager has become every bit as good as you could feasibly hope. Hes arguably the best player from the 2011 draft, a near lock for Canton upon his retirement and still going strong at 30-years old. Even the most casual followers of Broncos football can tell you how special Von is, so I wont spend too much time browbeating you with it. Hes among the most dangerous pass rushers in football with a freaky fast first step and exceptional athleticism. As hes aged hes continually added moves to his repertoire and will completely embarrass most pass blockers one on one. If the Broncos are going to topple Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, Von will need more of these types of plays against Mitchell Schwartz (71).How can Von improve in 2019?Its a question thats lingered in the back of my mind since Vic Fangio said: I do really believe as good as Von has played, he can play even better, at his introductory press conference. Miller embraced the comments and looked forward to working with a coaching staff that wanted to help him reach another level. Millers weight generated headlines later in the spring when he mentioned the plan to weigh in at 10 lbs heavier than his 2018 playing weight. Since at least Super Bowl 50, hed been playing around 235 lbs, but mentioned it was time to bulk back up. Two areas come to mind where that the additional weight should certainly help him. The most obvious benefit is to compliment the current strength of Vons game: his pass rush. So long as the weight doesnt sap his burst off the line. it should open up additional opportunities to bully an opponent with more force behind his bull rush. There are times last year where Miller worked to spin by an opponent when it would have clearly benefited him to run straight through him. In a similar manner, extra oomph could be a big help on stunts. Take this 3rd and 9 play against the Browns, for instance:Additional weight should only help Von attack interior offensive lineman. Von loops inside to disrupt Mayfield here and gets good push on JC Tretter Dennis Smith Jersey , in no small part because he catches him unprepared. With a little extra force behind his rush, hes likely to shove the Browns center back into the quarterback. Theres another big area he can improve upon going forward: his his play in space. Fangio dropped Mack and Floyd into coverage on a little over 10% of their snaps last season. For comparisons sake, Chubb and Miller dropped a little over 5% in 2018, and most of it was the rookie. Pro Football Focus credited Von with just 26 coverage snaps last year. Which makes plays like this one against Baltimore stand out a lot more:Von rarely dropped into coverage last year, but hell have to do a better job than this if called upon in 2019. In his defense, its hard to completely blame Von for the initial opening Javorious Allen had on the play. Mark Andrews vertical stem works as a sort of pick to keep Miller from running step for step with the running back. Where Von errs is his hesitation as he watches Flacco which hurts his pursuit angle to Allen after the catch. Look for Miller to have a lot more on his plate against the pass under Fangio. Both Mack and Floyd played more than double Vons coverage snaps last year. So dont be surprised to see both the Broncos edge players asked to drop into the flats, hook zones, or run with receivers on occasion.Additionally, there were scenarios in 2018 where the Bears duo were tasked with bumping a receiver before rushing the passer in order to disrupt the route runners timing.Macks initially steps into Jimmy Graham to slow his burst off the line. How will Fangios D help Von and Chubb? One big difference youll see with the defense as a whole in 2019 is the coverage shells. Jeff Essary is going over it at length, but its important to mention a couple of differences here as theyll directly impact the pass rushers. The first thing that comes to mind is the additional variety Fangio will throw at opposing offenses. Take this 2018 play in the opener: Teams could count on the Broncos manning up in critical moments under Vance Joseph. The Broncos made heavy use of Cover 1 in 2018. Broncos ran man coverage on 54.1% of all snaps last year, according to Sports Info Solutions. Only the Patriots ran it more. They also ran almost the entire defense out of a single high safety look, dropping one of the safeties into the box. The Bears meanwhile Terrell Davis Color Rush Jersey , played a mix of single and double high. This makes sense as Fangio used man coverage 44.7% of the time, but also ran a heavy dose of match-up zone. If youre looking to read into it at length I strongly advise following this jump, but my oversimplified summary is that its zone coverage that looks a lot like man. Its where pass defenses are moving to adapt to the spread and air raid influence permeating through the NFL. Its more adaptive than traditional spot dropping: there will be real answers to pick plays that have long plagued the Broncos. It should also help against teams that run a lot of jet motion such as the Rams, and Chiefs. Sturdier coverage should help the pass rush immensely, as theyll have more time to get to the quarterback. As Ive mentioned last week, sack numbers are hard to predict because of so many mitigating factors. I wouldnt be disappointed in the least if Chubb and Vons sack numbers are down from 2018 if it means theres more interceptions and punts. It goes beyond traditional stats, but disruption IS production. Fangios scheme should help the entire front 7 to see far more opportunities to sow chaos.Miller (26) is behind only Terrell Suggs (33) on the active forced fumble list. He came into the league 8 years after the Cardinal.

General Manager Ryan Pace made a number of moves to help the Bears field the most exciting and competitive roster in his tenure. The draft day trade with the New England Patriots that landed the 51st overall selection was used to bring in Anthony Miller David Montgomery Jersey , the competitive Wide Receiver from Memphis. Our draft guru, EJ Snyder, had Miller as his #3 WR in the draft and pegged him as the best possible fit for Matt Nagys offense and a perfect complement to the free agent acquisitions of Allen Robinson II and Taylor Gabriel. He brings an energy and passion to the field and I was fortunate to get a few minutes with him to talk about his shoulder, his role in the offense, and where he sees this team headed in the future. Jeff Berckes: Anthony, I understand youre out in Los Angeles working with Panini trading cards right now. Whats going on out there and what have you been up to?Anthony Miller: Panini has some cool events going on. A lot of the guys are just kickin it, rookies from this class. Weve done a lot of card signing. Its just a good time out here. Ive been hanging out with Calvin Ridley, Nick Chubb, Kerryon Johnson, DJ Moore and a few other guys. One of the Anthony Miller autographed trading cards from PaniniJB: Ill have to get one of those for my collection! First things first hows the shoulder? Are you looking at a surgical repair and what kind of recovery timeline are you looking at?AM: Its doing good. Im actually getting surgery on it in 3 weeks. Ill be laid up for a minute, looking at 4 or 5 months of recovery. It was definitely a risk playing with it.(For those of you doing the math, Anthony is expecting to be fully recovered by sometime in the summer.)JB: I think I can speak for all Bears fans when I say were sending positive thoughts for a full recovery and definitely have a lot of respect for being able to play through that injury. Despite missing a few games with that shoulder issue, you were able to have a successful rookie season, leading the team with 7 TDs. How do you see your role in this offense moving forward? AM: I see it expanding even more than you guys have seen. The reasons I was limited in the offense was one, it took me a little time to get a grasp of it and, two, was because of my shoulder. I wasnt able to play how I really wanted to. I was just making plays however I could. And so Coach didnt put a lot of my plate this year and I totally understand that. But its going to be way different next year. Im going to be fully incorporated into the offense.JB: It seemed like you were taking most of your snaps out of the slot and sharing some of those targets with Trey Burton. Do you see yourself working more on the outside or expanding your role in the slot?AM: Im going to be everywhere, man. Inside, outside, doing reverses, everything. Coach Nagy, his offense, you have to know every position on the field because at some point you are going to be at those positions so you just gotta know it. JB: You mentioned Coach Nagy and I just have to ask, from the outside perspective Tarik Cohen Color Rush Jersey , it looks like hes really been able to develop a culture that everyone on the team has bought into. Whats he doing to bring you guys together as a team? AM: He just lets us be us. He doesnt try to make the team be something its not. He lets us play loose, have a lot of fun out there so that the experience is the best that it can be for us. Basically, he just lets us have fun. I think thats all a coach needs to do in order for his players to work for him and he works for us. JB: You were able to make the transition to the NFL quickly was there a veteran on the team that took you under their wing and what advice were you given to help that transition?AM: Most definitely. I was blessed to be around a lot of great veterans. Guys like Josh Bellamy, Allen Robinson II, Taylor Gabriel. Guys like that were constantly in my ear each and every day on and off the field telling me what to do, what not to do, just making my rookie year a lot smoother than it couldve been.JB: You mentioned Josh Bellamy first and I find that interesting. He seems to be really well liked by his teammates and serves as one of those glue guys. What is it about him that makes him so special to that wide receiver unit?AM: The thing is, that guy, hes willing to do anything to help the team win. Hes just like me. Hes relentless, he comes to work every day with a mindset of no matter what is going on, were going to get to work no matter what. Hes just a great guy to be around. He brings a lot of great energy to the team.JB: Going against this Bears defense every week in practice certainly challenges this offense to be better. I know youre a competitive guy and want to go against the best. What defensive back do you enjoy going against the most in practice because he makes you better?AM: Yeah, good competition. I like going against Eddie Jackson. Hes considered one of our best defensive players. He had a phenomenal season this year. I wish we couldve had him in the playoffs. Thats a guy I like going against in practice. We make each other better. Bryce Callahan is a good guy to go against there at practice too. He is definitely a sticky defender, has very good feet and hips. Thats another guy we were missing out on toward the end of the season. A couple of unfortunate injures, we wish we had him out there. Hes a good guy to go against. JB: You mentioned injuries and the Bears, while overall very healthy, had a few instances where key players missed a couple games Mack with the ankle, Trubisky with his shoulder issue, you with your shoulder. It never seemed like you guys were rushing back too soon is that Nagys philosophy of trying to keep you guys protected?AM: Yeah, Coach Nagy didnt push any of us at any point. If we felt like we could go, we were going to go but we were always smart about it. He would never make too big of a deal out of whether we would go or not. We trust our doctors a lot. The doctors did a great job with the injuries this year. We really didnt have many injuries though. JB: What are your feelings on all these special plays that Nagy calls that get defensive guys involved? It seems like everyone is having fun with it - does that help everyone buy in more? AM: Yeah, thats what I like about this team. Its so fun. Coach is willing to do anything to throw a wrench in the game to confuse the other team. Hes very good at that and whatever way he can find to do that, hes going to do that and his way is throwing defensive guys onto the offense from time to time. We love it; we have a lot of fun with it. JB: Can we expect you to throw TD pass next season?AM: Definitely. I had a pass this year, it wasnt for a TD but I know hes going to have something for me down the road. JB: What would you say was your personal highlight from your rookie year?AM: Man, winning the NFC North Championship Dion Sims Jersey , that was crazy, even though I didnt have any catches that game. Just being in that atmosphere, just being a part of that great win, that great team win, it was awesome man. It was a packed house that night as well. JB: Thats an awesome answer and Ill tell you it was a great highlight for Bears fans too. As we head into the long off-season, do you have any message for Bears fans?AM: Definitely be looking forward for a continuation of last year. I know we didnt finish a few games that we should have. The games that we did lose, we lost by one point. So, were very close to becoming the team that we want to be. Im confident that we will be that Super Bowl team, if not next year, its going to be real soon. Were bringing that trophy home. Defenders play offense, RBs throw passes, and offensive lineman catch TDs. But why does it work? Is there a method to Nagys madness? Find out in this film breakdown! As usual, if your platform doesnt display the videos being referenced within the article simply look for the italicized portion of each paragraph thatll contain a link to the video you need.Well start off by looking at what Nagy does well...First and foremost, Nagy wants to get the ball to his players in space. Unfortunately, space is hard to come by, so he has to be creative watch here as Trey Burton, Allen Robinson, and Anthony Miller clog up the middle to set legal downfield screens for Tarik Cohen. This cheeky design picks up 12 easy yards.Nagy also displays a keen understanding of his players strengths and weaknesses because Howard lacks speed, Nagy places him on the end of the line to instantly put Howard in blitz-beating space without him needing to run a route. The play, basically a slip screen without the slip, goes for 15 yards.Nagy loves to combine unusual formations with pre-snap motion to disguise simple play concepts this play , run from the famous 2QB formation, uses Burtons motion and the quarterbacks hard counts to pull Tampa Bays eyes away from Gabriel for an easy score. Despite the zany formation and crazy motions, its really just a simple jet sweep a deceptively simple play.Hell also re-use his trick formations to generate defensive confusion here the 2QB formation returns to draw the plays focus toward Chase Daniel (who motions right), giving Kevin White the whole left side of the end zone for his fade route. Though they dont score, the Bears got just the space Nagy wanted if thats Riley Ridley or Allen Robinson, it might just be a touchdown. But before you start thinking that Nagys magic is just pre-snap smoke and mirrors, check out how well he simplifies Trubiskys reads by forcing defenders into lose-lose situations this 4th & 1 play shows Burton and Miller create an easy read for Trubisky. Once the Pats LB commits to Miller, Burton is left wide open for the first down. This attitude (creating unwinnable defensive situations) bleeds into tons of Nagys route concepts watch how Bellamys route here leaves Whites CB with no way to stay close. This legal downfield pick gives Trubisky a wide-open receiver for an easy first down.In short, Nagy runs a smart, creative offense that keeps things simple for its players while confusing the defenses it faces. Pre-snap motion, downfield picks, and unusual formations all give defenses headaches and create yards. But Nagys not perfect; where does he struggle? As many Bears fans know, Nagy has a tendency to occasionally get too cute. This stems from his desire to be unpredictable sometimes doing the unexpected is genius, but sometimes its flat-out dumb. This play tries to pack 3 receivers into the ball-side of the end zone and completely fails. Also, Nagys own creativity will occasionally become his undoing this 3rd & 1 play should be a simple conversion for Howard, but he and Cohen blow the mesh point and instead turn the ball over. Nagys creativity puts uncommon players in position to handle the ball and thus unavoidably increases the offenses error rate. These errors show us the double-edged sword that is Matt Nagy he pushes the envelope until it pushes back, both in his play calls and in his play designs. Not everything will work, but its his constant prodding that creates his high highs (Santas Sleigh) and low lows.Overall, I think Matt Nagy brings more to the Chicago Bears than any offensive coach Ive ever seen in my tenure as a fan (06-present). He clearly understands how to exploit defenses of all kinds and consistently experiments to find the limits of what football allows him to do. While his style undoubtedly creates errors, Nagys aggressive creativity should leave you excited about Bears 202 season. If this offense takes a step forward... watch out.Now its your turn: What do you think of Matt Nagy? Do you like what hes doing in CHI? Let me know!
